Job Description:

Purpose of Role

To provide service excellence as the main point of contact for guests, in accordance with performance and quality standards established by the Hotel.

Person specification

Education

a - No formal education qualifications required
b - Good standard of written and verbal English (essential)
c - Additional languages such as Korean or Chinese would be an advantage (desirable)

Experience

a - A previous experience of working in guest service would be an asset.
b - Some experience in a similar position in a hotel.

Functional knowledge

a - Health & Safety Policy and to identify and report hazards
b - Hotel’s fire and terror threat emergency procedures
c - Additional languages such as Korean or Chinese would be an advantage

Core job Functions

1. To deliver service exceeding guest expectations through
a - Initiating greetings and fond farewells to all guests in the lobby / porte cochere
b - Handling all enquiries accurately, efficiently, courteously and patiently
c - Escort guests to their room, with consideration, empathy and anticipation of their requirements
d - Recognising returning guests and acknowledging them by name and their preferences
e - Initiating verbal communication to support understanding
f - Engaging with and making guests feel welcome as individuals
g - Knowing about the Hotel services and politely assisting with general guest enquiries
h - Being conversant with and applying hotel procedures for terror alerts, fire and security
i - Supporting the safety and care of other according to the Health and Safety policy

2. To efficiently process and manage guest luggage,
a - Stepping forward to meet cars/ transport on arrival
b - Taking luggage from guests or removing from transport quickly
c - Noting guest name and marking luggage accordingly
d - Taking guest to Front Desk and introducing them to the Guest Service Agent
e - Assisting GSA in taking guest to their room with the luggage
f - Providing safe storage for guest luggage until departure if required

3. Comply with the department’s cost management efficiencies by
a - Using cleaning materials, etc. according to manufacturer’s guidelines to minimise waste
b - Ensuring equipment is both used and stored correctly to extend its life
c - Handling all equipment carefully to prevent damage and breakages
d - Reporting any faulty equipment immediately to minimise further damage/ repairs
