Position: HSE Officer
Total Vacancy: 1 Male/Female
â€¢ Directly responsible to the COMPANY nominated personnel (offshore and onshore) for all WORKSITE safely related matters.
â€¢ He / She shall assist in developing enhance HSE policy procedures and standards with the COMPANY nominated personnel and other senior personnel on the vessels and onshore yard.
â€¢ His/her duties shall include a comprehensive briefing of all incoming crews and visitors on emergency and standard HSE procedures.
â€¢ He / She will conduct regular safety talks covering pertinent topics and will chair the weekly safety meeting and arrange for the distribution of minutes.
â€¢ He / She will be responsible for ensuring that all safety related items contained in the permit to Works system are complied with.
â€¢ His / Her daily activities will include monitoring of all activities to ensure that safe Working practices are in place. He shall have the authority to stop any unsafe act and will immediately report any unsafe condition.
â€¢ He / She will institute follow-up action in both cases to prevent re-occurrence.
â€¢ His / Her area of responsibility shall include all machinery; equipment and WORKSITE within the jurisdiction of the COMPANY nominated personnel. He / She shall conduct weekly checks on the condition and status of all safety related equipment and documentation.
Qualification & Competencies
â€¢ He / She will have served a recognized trade apprenticeship and as a minimum possess a NEBOSH (National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health) or its equivalent and certified by National institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
â€¢ He / She shall have a minimum of 10 yearsâ€™ experience in the offshore hydrocarbon industry 3 years of which will have been an HSE officer.
â€¢ He / She shall be fully conversant with all HSE aspect associated with the individual trade skills.
â€¢ He / She shall be fully conversant with the principles of fire prevention hazardous area zoning and equipment.
â€¢ He / She shall have received training in accident investigation.
â€¢ He / She shall be able to read, write and speak English and Malay.
â€¢ Adheres to all HR and company policies and procedures.
â€¢ Continually strives to improve self; knowledge and skills.
