Job Description:
Job purpose:
• IT Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure, including end-user systems.
• The role holder assists end-users in troubleshooting and solving common hardware and software problems.
• Maintain email and telephone communications for office and teaching staff.
• Maintain data access and enter data into CfBT’s data capturing systems
Job objectives:
1. Investigate and resolve problems in the day-to-day use of CfBT computers, printers and other IT related equipment
2. Maintenance of IT Helpdesk
3. Assist and support in the installation and configuration of hardware and software
4. Ensure timely and cost-effective replenishment of IT consumables such as printer toners
5. Practice IT asset management which includes Inventory system and check in/check out processes
6. Deploy and maintain workstations, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems and additionally IT systems
7. Provide support for Infrastructure related emergencies and IT related maintenance
8. Manage and configure systems such as Paragon, PLC and TET Blog
9. Other IT duties as assigned

• The role holder is expected to work closely with IT team members as well as other colleagues from the other departments
Person specification:
Knowledge
Essential:
• Microsoft Certification (equivalent)
• Advanced knowledge of desktop Operating Systems
• An understanding of Office 365
• Genuine passion and interest in learning
• Broad understanding of hardware and software
Desirable:
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Software development processes
• Knowledge of different programming languages (Java, C, C++, . Net, Visual Basic)
• Knowledge of Databases (SQL Server, MySQL)
• An understanding of IT used in education and educational contexts
Experience
Essential:
• At least two years relevant experience in IT related work § Working in a customer service environment
• Frontline customer service experience
• Ability to explain complex issues in simple terms
Desirable:
• Experience in Web Programmin
• Printer maintenance skills
• Experience in developing software
• Supplier management experience (third party suppliers – Telecoms, outsourced services etc)
Skills:
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Programming skills (Visual Studio or equivalent, MS Excel, Power Apps, Power BI)
• Ability to work successfully as part of a team
