Position: Marine Competency Assessor

Job Description:
Minimum Requirements:
• Fluent with STCW, SOLAS, LSA/FFA Code, MARPOL, OCIMF (OVID) inspections regime, IMO regulations
• Familiarity with BSP HSE, WMP and SMR requirements are added advantages
• Minimum 10 years proven experience in the offshore industry as a Master Mariner
• Able to communicate in written and spoken English, including the necessary technical terminology fluently
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Conduct trainings for all crew and trainees
• Conduct pre-assessment with crew and trainees prior to attending client or marine port authority assessments
• Monitor and ensure that trainees are completing required trainings and having adequate practical experience in all aspects of their role.
• Plan assessment to meet the requirements of the company and the assessed person
• Make competence decisions against the required criteria from client
• Provide feedback to management that affirms competence and identifies additional needs
• Prepare an overall comprehensive, objective and accurate fleet operational assessment report for management’s review
• Work with necessary bodies/divisions to ensure standardisation of assessment practice and outcomes
• Help to demonstrate competencies to regulatory bodies
• Participate in appraisals conducted by the Coordinators/Manager with vessel crew as required
• Visit vessels regularly and prepare visit reports
NOTE: Remuneration package to be discussed during interview.

Age: 35 - 50 years old

Basic Salary: B$ 3, 000 / Month
