A unique model to Brunei and Borneo. Indeed, this model rarely comes up for sale anywhere the world over. It is not the retro-style military versions on sale in Brunei which copied this one. Chassis stamp reads November 2002. Last full service was 13 Feb 2016. Just under 12, 000km on the clock.
This bike has been carefully looked after, regularly serviced, oil changed every 3000 km; brakes, push rods, gears and chains checked, adjusted and lubed every 1000 km. The old style Avon tyres have done less than 3000km. Imported from UK, so has European spec.
It comes with a large windscreen and a lot of spares (including battery and chain), spark plugs, toolkit and three workshop manuals. I have used Hitchcock’s (UK) for all parts which I don’t have and they can courier here very quickly (a drain hose took 3 days to arrive). Can detach the ammo box pa
iers and replace seat with a saddle for 1940´s look should you wish.
It is called a Sixty-Five because it’s based on 1960s technology and, as such, is VERY basic: easily worked on by anyone who can follow the manual. It’s got five gears.
It has never been ridden faster than 100kph and cruises nicely along at 80kph. Torque at the lower end is excellent, but it’s a single cylinder 24HP, not a cafe racer bike: drum brakes! I have ridden it almost every day to and from work and it starts every time, either kick start or electronic push button.
A beautiful machine with an old fashioned thump to its exhaust.
I am happy to demonstrate how to ride it and to show what it can do, but don’t ask to take it for a test ride, unless you have a large deposit to hand over first. And please don´t waste everyone´s time by offering less than 7k.
Taxed until December 2016.
