We are currently looking for a suitable candidate to fill the post of a Senior Accountant. Preferences will be given to Brunei Citizens and PR.

Job Description:

a) In liaison with the Finance Shared Service Centre, produce financial/management reports on a monthly and quarterly basis (P&L/Balance Sheet, Cash flow, commentary and analysis) for the Cluster as per the requirements of the company/group as well as in compliance with Accounting standards and applicable laws and regulations;
b) Prepare year end statutory accounts and manage internal/external audit requirements;
c) Treasury/cash flow management – assume duties of Company treasury function as defined in the bluebook (Treasury and cash management policy), in coordination with the Cluster;
d) Contribute to the standardisation of procedures, policies, objectives and plans and identify process improvements to drive efficiency in financial reporting. Ensure overall compliance with the AL Blue book;
e) Assist with maintaining good Corporate Governance including Company Secretarial and legal matters as required by the company/group and finance manager;
f) Preparation of the yearly Company tax, payroll tax, returns and any other tax requirements to ensure compliance with the appropriate legislation. Manage ad-hoc tax issues as they arise and ensure accurate recording of tax effect accounting entries is maintained;
g) Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly reports as per Group requirements and deadlines;
h) Develop systems, workflows and appropriate internal controls with segregation of duties to ensure accurate financial information and mitigate risk of error or fraud;
i) Provide support for Budgeting and forecasting requirements as required by the group (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow, supporting workpapers, commentary and analysis)


*Preferably 30 to 40 years old

The ability to fulfil all of the listed duties and accountabilities;
*Minimum of 5+ years relevant experience in similar role, preferably in the Industrial sector;
*Computer literacy and ability to use spreadsheets (advanced), Accounting system. Ability to use or to rapidly acquire in depth knowledge of specific softwares;
*Ability to read, analyse and interpret documents simple instructions, short correspondence such as taxation rulings, statutory/legal documents, procedure manuals and the ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
*Ability to solve practical problems and respond to common enquiries or complaints from internal and external customers, and regulatory agencies or members of the business community;
*Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;
*Good communication skills with the ability to present and communicate effectively;
*Good organisation skills;
*Ability to meet deadlines;
*Team player who can also work autonomously.
