Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Purpose of Role:
To monitor guest swimming pool and marine activities and interact with guests, as necessary, to advise on safe practices and apply the Hotel safety policies consistently and with all guests.

Core Job Functions:
1. To interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner and ensure that the safety policies are applied consistently by
• Greeting and assisting visitors and resident guests at the beaches and pools
• Engaging and making guests feel welcome as individuals
• Communicating and enforcing the pool rules
• Diligently patrolling and observing activities of those in the water
• Intervening when swimming is unsafe
• Preventing running, jumping or diving in any pools
• Stopping guests from swimming out of the opening hours for the respective pool
• Ensuring that all children are accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times
• Removing unaccompanied and unsafe children from the water
• Knowing about the Hotel services and politely assisting with all general guest enquiries
• Enforcing rule that no glass or china is taken into these areas
• Delivering of first aid and CPR if required
• Calling for an ambulance if needed
• Supporting the safety and care of others
• Escalating and reporting any concerns promptly to the senior management
• Escorting nonresident’s from the pool area and stopping inappropriate behaviour and photography

2. To operate the watercrafts for marine sports safely through
• Monitoring weather conditions and operating these in calm waters
• Ensuring all participating guests sign a disclaimer
• Refueling and launching these with care
• Assisting guests on and off the boats
• Briefing and coaching guests on safety
• Towing guests carefully so as to avoid injury

Responsibility of Role :
1. Safety of guests and employees in all beach, Children’s Club, marine and swimming activities
2. Communication of safety and product knowledge to guests
3. Provide rescue and first aid support when required
4. Delivering guest service

Person Specification:

• No formal qualifications are needed for this role
• Fluent written and verbal English is essential
• Additional languages such as Korean or Chinese would be an advantage

• Some experience in a similar position in a hotel or club is an advantage

Physical requirements
• Strong swimmer
• Physically fit
• Good eyesight
• Physically capable of carrying heavy items, constant walking and standing for periods of time out doors
• Shifts between 7 am and 12 midnight, over seven days per week, 365 days of the year

Functional Knowledge
• Qualified boat operator, first aider and life saver
• Consistently polite and courteous approach to all guests and visitors
• Considerate and respectful manner with to all colleagues
• Hotel Health & Safety Policy and to identify and report hazards
• Fluent in English
• Additional languages such as Korean or Chinese would be an advantage

• Understanding that vacation / OILs and PILs are taken to fit with colleagues and the Hotel operational demands
• Producing fair and reasonable share of work, on a rotational basis

• Taking staggered meal breaks, to maintain consistent operational cover

Responsible for following and complying with the Health and Safety and Fire policies in all aspects, including
• Following hotel policies and procedures

• Ensuring compliance with personal hygiene rules and reporting infections and health hazards
• Reporting risks, including COSHH, H&S and fire related, and reporting these promptly
• Supporting the effective evacuation of guests and staff in the event of fire
• Stopping and reporting hazardous situations immediately
• Reporting all emergencies, dangerous occurrences and accidents promptly to Level 2 to 6
