Position: Clerk Accountant

Job Description:
We are currently looking for an accounting clerk to perform a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions for our organization.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
General accounts receivable functions:
• Prepare and submit customer invoices
• Encode payments
• Monitor customer accounts for non payment and delayed payment
General accounts payable functions:
• Check, verify and process invoices
• Prepare payments for signature
• Sort, code and enter accounts payable data
• Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
• Maintain vendor files
General Payroll functions:
• Collect, confirm and process timesheets and overtime
• Verify TAP, SAP and other deductions
• Prepare payroll slips
• Track employee vacation and sick time
General support functions:
• Update, verify and maintain accounting software and other financial records
• Assist in month end reporting procedures
• Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies
• Prepare Petty Cash Report
• Assist with employee expense reports
• Perform filing and general administrative tasks
• Liaise with customers/vendors
Education and Experience Required:
• Higher Diploma or equivalent
• 1 - 3 years experience in clerical accounting
• MS Office and knowledge of accounting software
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
