Position: Optical Technician
Total Vacancy: 2 Male

Job Description:

• Receive orders from Optometrists, Opticians and Ophthalmologists
• Understand prescriptions to produce, spectacles using computer controlled equipment, with use of specialised tools, including computer controlled edgers
• Assist to coordinate frames and eye measurements to optical prescription
• Assist to recommend specific types of lenses, lens coatings and frames
• Prepare work orders, that relate to the grinding and mounting of lenses to chosen frames
• Assist in cutting, polishing and grinding lenses for prescription glasses
• Assist to verify finished lens spectacle match the optical prescription and order placed
• Assist to measure, design, fit and adapt lenses and frames in accordance with prescriptions
• Glazing and finishing lenses, cut and edge lenses to fit frames for individual prescriptions
• Use lens meters or lens analysers to determine current lens prescription
• Perform and document repairs, calibration and testing of equipment
• Arrange and maintain optical merchandise displays
• Assist to place orders for frames and lenses
• Assist in receiving, storing and stock inventories
• Assist in handling and tracking inventory and recording sales

Application Requirement:

• Must have at least 2 years work experience as an Optical Technician in an Optical Company.

Age: 25 - 35 years old
Basic Salary: B$ 600 / Month
Allowances: B$ 90
Employment Type: Full Time
