Position: Rigger (Onshore)
Total Vacancy: 5 Male

Job Requirements:

-Must successfully passed the /Introduction to Lifting & Hoisting Operations/ Certification and /Rigger’s Training (Level 1)/ Certification from BSJV training providers or having ISQ certificate in Rigger
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview.

• Rigger works with Crane Operator as part of the lifting crew to assist in crane heavy lifting operation.
• Rigger is responsible for securing, controlling and releasing the load.
• Rigger should be familiar with the various types of lifting equipment like slings, shackles, webbing slings and their Safe Work Load and able to select suitable slings and lifting gear required as per the Lift Plan appropriate for the lifting job.
• Able to differentiate the various Lift Classifications (Routine Lift vs Non Routine Lifts) within BSP & BLNG operations. Tasks and Duties
• Participate in pre-lift meeting / toolbox talk prior to the lifting activity to be based on detailed lifting plan and task-based risk assessment
• Carry our pre-use inspection of the lifting equipment prior to the lifting activity
• Able to identify potential hazards associated in Lifting operations and implement control measures to address them
• Assist to assess the lifting area ensuring any movable obstructions are removed, re-routing lifting path if obstructions ca
ot be removed practically, plan the route for lifting & moving to minimize any risk
• Ensure proper site preparations are in place for mobile crane set up prior to the lift (ie: barriers/barricades, warning signs, etc)
• Assist in setting up the crane like to set up the outrigger pads/matting sufficiently and correctly for the mobile crane outriggers
• Able to obtain & identify the resources required like rigging gears or lifting accessories as per lifting plan to lift the load
• Able to rig up the load to be lifted accordingly to the rigging arrangement as per prepared lifting plan with the appropriate lifting equipment ensuring balanced weight distribution with understanding the effect of the load distribution for the various rigging configurations (ie: hitches, angle, posture, etc).
• Able to determine the centre of gravity (COG) of a load having an offset COG
• Protect the load from any possible damage during the lifting operations and place appropriate protection for the rigging gears for sharp edges
• Safe body and hand positions during the rigging and lifting operations
• Attached and secure tag line(s) to control the load.
• Knowledge of tying basic rigging knots in securing taglines required.
• Correctly position the load in the final intended location and thereafter progressively remove all the lifting equipment and lifting accessories
• De-rig and remove all lifting equipment, carry out post use inspection and place/return back to the original storage location.
