Technical Supervisor

Responsibilities
- Responsible to Technical Manager
- Supervise QC Technicians/Testers
- Conduct on-the-job training of QC Technicians/Testers
- Participate in Internal Quality Audits
- Participate in Quality System Review
- Carry out Contract/Tender Reviews
- Inspect/Calibrate all minor test equipment to documented procedures and record results
- Ensure all major equipment is calibrated by a body accredited to National Standards
- Validate all test results
- Ensure that Laboratory staffs are not influenced by any request to falsify any test result, use short cut methods or in any way not comply with the Laboratory Manual. (The General Manager must be advised if any person should try to influence the staff with respect to procedures and test results)
- Inspect raw materials and concrete
- Identify rejected goods and made recommendation for further improvement
- Maintain Company property, ensuring that any damage, accidental or malicious by whosoever is reported immediately, to their supervisor or any senior staff.
- Maintain the Laboratory records and client confidentiality
- Monitor the quality of concrete production to comply with relevant specifications
- Improve and develop the Company’s use of statistical techniques
- Receive and process Non Conformance Reports
- Serve as a Client contact in questions of disputed quality, quantity and ensure the settlement of questions raised by Clients, on quality and volume/quantity.
- Maintain the Laboratory Manual and Quality Documentation, in accordance with ISO 17025 and relevant standards
- Responsible for all concrete mix designs, new materials, product testing, recording results and producing
- Create and maintain batch cards
- Liaise with the Management Representative regularly
- Manage, coordinate and maintain a quality attitude among testers
- Audit the laboratory, equipment and testers in accordance with relevant laboratory registration standards
- Carry out training and technical seminars to ensure all testers are competent in the functions they undertake
- Liaise with Production and Administration Staff as required
- Ensure that Laboratory access and security is controlled
