Job Details:
Position: Mechanical Operator (Maintenance) Trainee
Total Vacancy: 2 Male/Female
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance based on schedule maintenance as given by supervisor
- Checking and troubleshoot abnormality at machine to make sure the line is running perfectly
- To operate, monitor and ensure smooth operation of utility systems and equipment, i. e. steam boiler system, chiller, cooling tower, cooling systems, ammonia system, air compressors, etc.
- Ensure the requirements of planned maintenance system applied on the whole plant in the responsibility area
- Update maintenance log book before hand over to next shift
- Interfere to the faults and the stops during production or planned maintenance due to his supervisor(s)’ directions and works to fix the faults on time
- To liaise and work closely with the supervisor to intervening any fault(s) identified
- Strictly adhere to working hour’s discipline
- Responsible in keeping regular and proper record on maintenance works
- Ensure high level of safety and hygiene of the working environment
- Follow the rules required for machinery scrap and waste management system
- Assist supervisor with development of department policies, procedures and standards of the relevant equipment
- In-house training will be provided for following
Qualification and Requirements:
- GCE “O” Level or Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or any related field
- Understand on how to read P&ID, piping installation (i. e. welding or fitter) and how to use hand tools and correct PPE would be an advantage
- Understand or have basic knowledge on how to do cleaning or Hydro Test piping line and performing maintenance, commissioning or inspection on rotating and static equipment (i. e. pump, tank or agitator) would be an advantage
- Understand and know how to use working permit, and understand Hazard and HAZOP
- Understand on how to use mechanical tools in correct way
- Have knowledge on how to use maintenance task list and maintenance schedule
- Maintain the necessary activities in the framework of work safety and quality standards
- Can adapt to shift hours and flexible working order
- Able to operate effectively in a team
- Works well under pressure and meet strict datelines
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Self-motivated with good communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and details conscious
- Good command of computer knowledge (excel, word and PDF)
- Able to read and understand technical manuals
- Able to write and read report(s) in English
Note: Candidates will be placed for a six (6) months training period. Permanent employment will be considered upon completion of the six (6) months training employment period and upon passing examination where necessary.
