Position: Mechanic

Job Description:

• The Mechanic is responsible for the safe execution of those items in the preventive maintenance programme he is conducting.
• The Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that the relevant requirements of the Management System are used as the term of reference for activities controlled by him.
• The Mechanic is responsible for keeping the Technical Section Leader closely informed of all activities within his area of responsibility and notify him immediately on detection of any abnormal readings or fail symptoms on critical equipment and systems.

The Mechanic further has the responsibility for the following:

• When controlling the work of others the Mechanic is responsible for the safety of the perso
el working under his management
• Maintain a good working environment in all working areas and ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions
• Responsible for ordering parts as requested by the Technical Section Leader
• Assist the Technical Section Leader with the supervision of the daily activities of the Technical Section and in keeping a high technical level on the Mechanical equipment on board, in accordance with the Quality Assurance System of Maersk Drilling.
• Keep the Technical Section Leader informed about any irregularities
• Carrying out inspections, mechanical repairs and maintenance of installations and equipment
• Participate in Department safety meeting and technical meetings as directed by supervisor
• Implementation of outstanding recommendations from equipment audits by customer, class or management


Education Required: Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent
Age: 18 - 50 years old
Driving License Class: 3
Basic Salary: B$ 2, 600 / Month
Employment Type: Full Time
