Description
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director in regard to all financial and accounting activities and corporate administration of the JV. This includes overseeing financial department day-to-day operations, integrating finance operations, forecasting and budgeting, handling tax matters, preparing financial reports, ensuring organizational financial stability, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
Job Duties:
Smooth management of Financial Operations:
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Managing records and receipts by ensuring that records are typed accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
• Reconcile daily, monthly and yearly transactions and accounts in a timely manner
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. This includes ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems and processes, including payroll and invoicing
• Submit invoices and service entries on time to Clients
Risk management and Controls
• Monitoring internal controls and manage financial risks.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Establish, implement and monitor financial reporting systems to ensure compliance with government regulations and legislation
Audit and compliance
• Coordinate audit processes and collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
Participating in budgeting processes by coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
Reporting and Review:
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Create monthly and annual financial performance reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts. This includes analyzing financial data, examining all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies and reporting actual variances against budget
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to ensure cost management are effective and identify cost reduction opportunities
• Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings
Office Administration
• Organize company records: develop and carry out an efficient documentation and filing system for both paper and electronic records. This includes management of external reporting such as LBD, Smart GEP, Online Business Report, etc.
• Liaise with the Corporate Secretary to oversee all administrative tasks in the office is compliant with Brunei's legal, fiscal and statutory requirements.
• Participation in meetings as member of Secretary for preparation of agendas, minutes, reports and actioning outcomes of Board meetings
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field. Minimum five years of experience in a business or finance environment.
