Description
A Head of Preschool (Early Childhood) manages the daily operations, staff, and educational programming of an early childhood center, ensuring compliance with safety and licensing regulations. Key responsibilities include hiring and training staff, developing curriculum, managing budgets, and fostering communication between parents and educators. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment that requires balancing administrative tasks with supporting staff and interacting with young children and their parents.
Key Responsibilities
• Operations & Compliance: Manage day-to-day operations, ensure health and safety standards, maintain facilities, and adhere to state/local licensing regulations.
• Staff Management & Leadership: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teachers and staff; organize professional development.
• Curriculum & Education: Develop, implement, and monitor developmentally appropriate, high-quality, engaging curriculum.
• Parent/Community Relations: Communicate with parents, address concerns, and manage marketing and enrollment activities.
• Administrative & Financial: Prepare budgets, manage finances, maintain student records, and ensure proper staff-to-child ratios.
Qualifications
• Education: A Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years Experience: Proven experience in teaching and, preferably, leadership or administrative roles in a preschool setting.
• Skills: Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Certifications: Special Education will be preferable
