Position: Technical Section Leader

Job Description:

Responsible for a safe and economical operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment on board the rig, in accordance with procedures and instructions in the Quality Assurance System of Maersk Drilling & Maersk FPSOs and the requirements of the Authorities The Technical Section Leader acts as responsible ''Electrical plant manager” on Maersk operated rigs At all times keeping the OIM/Drilling Section Leader updated on the condition of the machinery and equipment Be well acquainted with the legislation in respect of the working environment and safety, and the MD Management System, ''Safety Policy'' and ''Environmental Policy''; and ensure that these are applied in the daily work on board Particular attention shall be paid to the Work Permit system Ensure that all perso
el working in the Technical Section have the necessary qualifications and experience to perform the work assigned to them in a professional and secure way In co-operation with the OIM, supervision of the maintenance of hull, superstructure and marine equipment, including safety equipment, rescue equipment, and the escape routes Responsible to keep the onshore Technical Superintendent informed to the extent needed to fulfil his duties Supervise operation and ru
ing of the mechanical and electrical equipment on board the rig Ensure proper maintenance and necessary repairs of all mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment on board, in accordance with Maersk Drilling & Maersk FPSOs Quality Assurance System (in particular the Preventive Maintenance Programme) Assist also the other Sections in technical questions regarding maintenance of the equipment within their areas of responsibility; and assist with the installation of third party equipment on board Supervision of the stock of spare parts for the machinery and equipment within the area of responsibility, ensuring that the stock is sufficient for the safety of the operations and in accordance with the budget and Maersk Drilling & Maersk FPSOs guidelines Carry out inspections and supervise modifications and larger overhauls of machinery, technical and electrical equipment, hull, and structure on the rig; and make sure that the plans for the jobs are approved by the Technical Superintendent before work commences and co-ordinate with the onshore Technical Superintendent Co-ordinate the activities with the OIM/Drilling Section Leader, and inform about any problems regarding operation and maintenance which may have consequences for the drilling operations and the safety of the rig and co-ordinate with the onshore Technical Superintendent Check that all certificates for machinery and technical and electrical equipment are valid, and arrange for required renewal. In particular follow up the continuous machinery survey in accordance with the requirements from the Classification Society Ensure that the perso
el in the Technical Section receive onthe job training and safety instruction, and that they participatein all emergency preparedness drills and safety meetings onboard Keep good communication lines with the service companies onboard the rig, and check their activities and that theirmaintenance programmes are implemented Keep the filing system for technical documentation ( e. g. instruction books, drawings, service reports, etc. ) updated andin good order at all times Report directly to the Technical Superintendent onshoreregarding electrical high voltage or low voltage installations(before major work is pla
ed or started) Ensure that the service companies have their maintenanceprograms implemented Assist with budget pla
ing and follow-up of the budgets Ensure proper reporting to Technical Superintendent or the Rig Manager. Particular emphasis on Engine Room Log, Oil Record and maintenance reporting Is responsible for completing the relevant documentation and filing of the same following the areas within the duties Update drawings after modifications to systems or equipment


Education Required: Master''s Degree (Master''s) or equivalent
Age: 18 - 50 years old
Driving License Class: 3
Basic Salary: B$ 10, 000 / Month
