JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Position: Optical Assistant
• Assists the Optometrists/Opticians in daily operation of the Clinic/Store
• Assists the Optometrists/Optician to greet patient/customer to create a comfortable environment
• Assists the Optometrists/Opticians in administering lifestyle questionnaire of the patient/customer for Optometrists/Opticians to diagnose the patient/customer
• Assists to prepare patients/customers, directing to the appropriate machines or examination rooms.
• Responsible for filing, keeping track of patients/customers appointments.
• Assists in completing paper works and orders.
• Assists to organize patients/customers records and maintain inventory lists.
• Assists to teach patients/customers how to use and care for their glasses
• Assists to help patients/customers select the most suitable eyeglasses frames according to face shape and aesthetic preferences.
• Assist to help patients/customers choose the best contact lenses for their needs.
• Assists to follow up appointments in case patients/customers experience discomfort or wish to ask question.
Application Requirements
• At least 2 years work experience as an Optical Assistant in Optical retail
• Skills:
• A positive mind-set
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Make a customer’s experience as enjoyable as possible
• Make customers feel valued, welcomed and accepted
• Always greeting customers in a warm and friendly manner
• Quickly understand, interpret and be attentive to customers' needs, wants and the customer's point of view
• Listening carefully and responding quickly to their requests
• Showing customers that you are doing everything possible to accommodate them
• Being polite and helpful at all times
• Be patient with demanding customers
• Language: Fluent in English and Malay
• Good Communication Skills
• Communicate in a professional manner
• Relay information in a concise and clear manner
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• To remain calm, courteous and respectful at all times
