ROLES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
• Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; issuing checks. Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
• Issues daily petty cash to retail outlets; Collects and reconciles daily sales.
• Monitors cash transactions to ensure that bank account balances to the report and any unusual items are investigated.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent.
• Requires at least 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting (preferably in a retail company).
• Must have strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis, including an ability to analyze cash flow and the impact on the financial statements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong managerial, pla
ing, organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, analytical, and lateral thinking skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
