Position: Pipe Welder

Job Description:

1. Assemble and install metal pipes and pipe fittings for stainless and carbon steel projects.
2. Use clamps, brackets and hangers to secure pipes to structures.
3. Remove slags and rough spots from work pieces by operating grinders or scrapers to ensure smooth work surfage.
4. Employ their knowledge of metailurgy to determine materials ad equipment most suitable for a welding project.
5. Clean and prepare workpieces using chemicals solutions etc to remove foreign matter such as grease, rust etc.
6. Use heating furnace to preheat metal pipes prior to welding or bending.
7. Cut and shape metal components to set specifications using powersaws, chipping knives or other hand tools.
8. Fill holes, cracks and dents on metal workpieces or pipe products.
9. Use micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments to check gap allowances, grooves or angles.
10. Assemble metal and non-metal pipes and pipe fitting using threading machine.
11. study schematics, diagrams and blueprints in order t determine the layout of pipes.
12. Measure and fabricate pipe routings to match existing in-line piping systems.
13. Control and turn valves or regulators to adjust flames and ensure proper use of welding gas.
14. Wear appropriate protective gear and ensure compliance with established health & safety regulations.
15. Troubleshoot a piping system and conduct diagnosis to identify and fix pipe problems

Education Required: National Vocational Certificate (NVC) or equivalent (NTC)
Age: 20 - 45 years old
Driving License Class: 3
Basic Salary: B$ 40 / Day
